It’s been a hard week for the psychedelics pioneer Rick Doblin. First, the Food and Drug Administration declined to approve the MDMA-assisted therapy for post-traumatic stress disorder developed by Lykos Therapeutics, a company that he founded. The next day, the journal Psychopharmacology retracted three studies on the treatment, in which many authors were associated with Lykos or the nonprofit Doblin founded, the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS).

Zenpep (pancrelipase) is a prescription medication that contains a combination of digestive enzymes. It’s approved for people with exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI)–a digestive disorder that occurs when the pancreas does not make enough enzymes (proteins). This can be caused by conditions such as cystic fibrosis. Pancreatic enzymes help break down–or digest–food so nutrients from food can be absorbed by the body.

Clonazepam is a prescription benzodiazepine, a class of drugs that slows down the nervous system. Also sold as brand-name Klonopin , veterinarians use clonazepam in dogs as an add-on treatment for seizures and use it alone to reduce anxiety in the dog. It may have other uses, such as a muscle relaxant or a sleep aid. Clonazepam is safe for dogs when given as recommended, but long-term therapy can cause dependence, tolerance, and withdrawal when it’s stopped.
