If your insurer covers Wegovy or Saxenda but these medications are unavailable, your doctor may be able to appeal and request a formulary exception, citing the shortage of the covered drug. Eligible patients can download the card from the Farxiga website or download and complete a mail-in rebate form. You can’t use these discounts simultaneously with insurance coverage, so you’ll have to see which reduces the out-of-pocket expenses more. So, for people with coverage, that might be the better deal.
